Crafternoon time!

So this post is so late in some terms, in others, it's not. I was going back and forth on whether to post this since Christmas, not sure if you knew this, but has come & gone. It's actually February 20th!!!! WHAT? Where has the year gone? Well, it's all about Christmas Crafts but actually not really. They are crafts, that yes, I made for Christmas but things that you can give pretty much anytime of year - no fancy knitted Christmas sweaters with cats in Santa hats here - no sir! Although, wow, what an amazing gift that would be?! Ha!

Well here is the list and ideas of what they could be given for:

Take along dollhouse - Birthday, Get Well, or before a trip somewhere
Let's Party Basket - Birthday, House Warming Gift, Hostess Gift
Pamper Yourself basket (just change up the theme) - Birthday, New Mom, Get Well, or Mother's Day
Wooden Vase - Birthday, Mother's Day, House Warming Gift, Hostess Gift, Get Well, or Pretty much anything!
Craft Supply Kit - Birthday Party, Get Well
Homemade Hot Cocoa & Brownie Basket - Get Well, House Warming, Birthday Gift

Well, I told myself last year that I would make pretty much every Christmas gift that I was giving, unfortunately, or fortunately depending on who you ask, I wasn't able to follow through. I did manage to make a "Party" basket for our lovely neighbors, a craft kit for one of Madeline's great friends, take along dollhouses for Madeline & her cousin, a "Pamper" gift basket for a gift exchange, a vase for my mom (although I didn't assemble it, I just painted it), and a homemade hot cocoa kit for one of our besties.

Okay, wow, so I'm realizing two things as I edit & upload these photos:
#1 I am a HUGE dork, I didn't really realize I was this crafty, hmmmmm??? May have to rethink my hobby
#2 NO WONDER I was having a difficult time trying to embrace & enjoy the holiday season this year!

I did all of this while packing for a 10 day trip, taking care of two little ones all day (plus house chores, kid activities & various appointments), and planning a small, but grand, birthday party - that PS never even happened. Now, I'm not telling you all of this to toot my own horn, I'm just recognizing why I was burnt out at the end of the year. Also, I'm hoping that you can take three things away from this post:
#1 learn from me to not take on so much
#2 and anyhow, it's not about the gifts, it's about gathering with family & friends, and laughing and good food and a warm fire, and cold winter air and snuggling and Christmas movies
#3 hopefully one of these crafts will inspire you to get creative & make your next gift instead of buying one - but for the love of God, please don't make a gift for every single person in your contact list!

Thanks for stopping by and listen to me ramble
